I have always been an artist. I can't really remember not making drawings and paintings.
I was born in England immediately after the Second World War and promptly came to Canada. I was brought up in Nova Scotia and Ottawa.
I began teaching in 1968 in Quebec City. When my husband and I moved our young family to Ottawa, we taught at Ashbury College. I was invited to develop an art programme for the Junior School and later the Senior School. Thirty years later I retired from teaching at Ashbury. I am also a life long learner, with a Master of Arts (Art Education)(Concordia),B. Ed. (Ottawa), B.A. (Fine Arts) (Concordia). Currently I am teaching various sessions at the Ottawa School of Art at the Shenkman Arts Centre.
I am an active member of Arteast, the Ottawa Art Association, St John the Evangelist Anglican Church. I also manage the Old Stick Cooperative Studio, which can be visited by appointment. I am also a very busy artist and Gran’ma. My recent shows include the, Francois Dupuis Recreation centre, at Galerie Old Chelsea ( June 24- July 14, 2016) I am also in group shows at Sienna Gallery, Ottawa Mixed Media Association (OMMA), the Ottawa School of Art, Ottawa Art Association, and Arteast.
